We present you episode 2 of Season 2:


  1. Marie Curie was accused of having an affair with this Physicist who is the assistant of her late husband. The man is known for his works in paramagnetism and diamagnetism. Curie was in danger of losing her second Nobel prize after rumours of their affair were circulated. Identify the man. 


  1. __ is a book written by a former chemical engineer at Solvay. In this book, the author writes about the encounter of Curie and Einstein at the famous Solvay Conference of 1911. The book narrates the story of Curie and how she overcame the gender prejudices during that era. It also mentions how the contribution of Mileva ( Einstein's first wife) to the theory of relativity was often overlooked and disregarded. Identify the book.



  1. The weight of an object is measured using a ________ while the mass of an object is measured using a ________. This famous scientist(physicist) died from abdominal aortic aneurysm and  after his death pathologists removed his brain during autopsy and kept it with him in hopes of unlocking the reason behind his intelligence .Upon the consent of his son , his brain was cut into pieces and distributed among scientists for research. One more clue , He offered his Nobel Prize to his wife as part of divorce settlement.

Y is generally popular with the term “Y sphere” , a hypothetical concept given by him. He did pioneering work in a wide variety of fields but didn’t win the Nobel Prize.

Yo peeps! We are back again with The Tuesday Toast!!!  Get ready for some interesting physics facts! Give it a GO. Ever since the first Nobel Prizes were distributed, only one person has been awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics twice. The second Nobel Prize was awarded to this physicist for developing a theory which has important applications in Nuclear Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) and Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Name the person. Options:  Werner Heisenberg  John Bardeen  Marie Curie Edward Mills Purcell In 1889, King Oscar II of Sweden held a competition offering a prize to anyone who would be able to give a solution to the three-body problem. A French mathematician won the competition by proving that the results of such problems are random. This discovery also gave rise to a new field of research.
